Yankees lose ALDS series October 11, 2005

The Yankees lost last night. I suppose I could look on the bright side – I’ll get more sleep and be less stressed out over the next two weeks – but the reality is that I’d gladly give up sleep and relaxation for a chance to see the Yankees win another world series. Oh well, the Angels outplayed the Yankees during this series so good luck to them. The White Sox are tough this year and aren’t going without a fight so the Angels are going to have a tough ALCS on their hands.
I’ve noticed that I’m having a more difficult time getting up in the morning after the nights I stay HOME. I’m not sure why that is and I know it doesn’t really make sense. Granted, after a night of being out drinking alcoholic beverages, I’m not exactly springing out of bed. Obviously it also depends on how much sleep I actually got, but the past few nights I’ve stayed home I felt like even a fire couldn’t have gotten me out of bed.
Something to consider…I’ve been debating whether I should tell people I know about my blog. If I do, it would really affect what I write about, but it would be nice to have friends and family and coworkers participate – but then there goes most of my subject matter. This is why my posts have been somewhat dry for now. I haven’t decided whether I can keep my big yam shut about this blog so I could be free to share my life and thoughts openly. I’m sure this is a common dilemma for those who start blogging.
Of course, even if people I know are aware of this blog, I doubt any of them would actually bother to read it.
Yankees / Angels playoffs October 9, 2005

I’m a lifelong Yankees fan so watching baseball well into October is a normal part of my life. I am generally stressed out for the 2-3 weeks of postseason play, but that’s OK. If the Yankees didn’t get into the postseason it would make for a much less stressful October but not nearly as fun.
Obviously I’m hoping the Yankees win tonight and force a game back in Anaheim. If they lose tonight, the Yanks go home and the Angels move to the ALCS. The Angels and White Sox are both great teams this year so the Yankees and the Red Sox really had their work cut out for them.
I used to see the Yankees play the Indians at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in the 70s when I was a kid. I didn’t have the opportunity to see the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium until 1999. It was really a thrill. They beat the White Sox that night. I’ve seen the Yankees play at the stadium against the Red Sox twice (Yankees won both games) and I’ve also taken a tour of the stadium. I have pictures of me on the field and in the dugout, and a little dirt from the warning track. I’ve been in the press box too. I met Joe DiMaggio when I was about 12 years old so that was obviously a thrill.
Well, it’s almost time to go watch the game. LET’S GO YANKEES!
