I’m home tonight on a Saturday, watching movies and catching up on some work. I go out a lot during the week and on most Fridays, but I prefer to stay home on Saturdays unless I really have something specific planned. All of the premium movie channels show new movies on Saturday nights, and I’ve usually saved quite a few to watch from the past week as well. Right now I’m watching ‘Champion’, and later tonight I’m planning to see ‘Michael Clayton’, ‘Ordinary People’, and the rest of ‘Rendition’.
I used to use NetFlix, but I switched to Blockbuster Online a while ago since I have 2 local stores nearby to take advantage of their in-store trades. Blockbuster increased its rates a while ago, and if they increase them again, I might switch back to NetFlix. I was never displeased with NetFlix, but I couldn’t resist trying Blockbuster Online for a while. Netflix even made canceling so easy that my queue is still available for me to restart my access. I’d definitely have no problem returning to NetFlix.
My boyfriend Chris is considering some job offers and the most attractive one is in Atlanta. He said that me being here in Erie puts a real wrench into that idea, and he asked if I’d be willing to move there with him. I really don’t want to move, but it was great that he asked. Sometimes I question how much I mean to him, but I must mean a lot if he’d ask me to move there and is considering our relationship so much in this decision. I’m hoping he’ll stay or accept one of the offers closer to home, but if he ultimately decides to leave, I’ll understand. I’ll feel really lousy about it for a while, but I’ll know he considered me in the decision. Anything could happen at this point so I’m trying not to think about it too much, but it has been on my mind.
My inconsiderate next door neighbor is moving…yay! She’s very nervy, her visitors are rude, and her son is a bratty pre-teen. Other than that, I love them both…ha ha. It will be so nice not to have my driveway blocked anymore!
Another one of my co-workers is leaving so two of our problem employees will have both left within a short period of time. This should free us up of some of the dead weight and allow us to replace them with some quality people.
So lately, things have been going my way. I’m a little hesitant to wonder how long this luck will last.

- you come in the house, you wipe your wheels!” I love that obscure quote from Seinfeld. Probably because it doesn’t make any sense unless you remember the episode. It just occurred to me that coming up with titles for my posts will be more difficult than writing the posts themselves.
Yesterday I participated in a 3.81 mile Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Assocation. I only earned about $180 but that was pretty good considering I hadn’t signed up until the day before the walk. It was wet and rainy and the long hill was a bit of a challenge, but it all went well. It was held at our local zoo, so after I finished the walk, I walked around the zoo for a while.
I watched hockey last night for the first time in years. I’m following the Penguins this year. Sidney Crosby is off to a great start having scored his first NHL goal at the home opener. Crosby was sitting next to Mario Lemieux and the difference in both age and experience struck me. Crosby is 18 and Lemieux is (a very young-looking) 40 and they both play center. I wondered what would be more valuable to a team – the young whippersnapper physique of an 18 year old, or the decades of experience of a 40 year old.
I used to go see our local hockey team with my dad for years when I was a kid. I loved watching hockey and oddly enough, was disappointed if there wasn’t at least one fight in a game. I’ve only been to one NHL game – but was fortunate enough to see Wayne Gretsky play. I’ve only been to a handful of local games as an adult but I’d like to go again. Maybe I’ll try to find someone who would like to go to a Penguins game this season.
I’ve seen a few good movies lately. Netflix is a great service, and is very reasonably priced. Now that the weather is turning cooler, I’m sure I’ll watch more movies for the next few months. ‘Crash’ is the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. I watch a lot of movies but am fairly choosy about what I buy on DVD, but ‘Crash’ might make my list.
Well, that’s all for today. I’m having lunch with my mom so I should get ready to go.
